Landed at 6pm Swiss time, 9:30pm Mumbai time. Dinner (lunch) on the flight was good, and so was the Swiss red wine. I have now learned to select the swiss wine on Swiss air as they usually promote the better swiss wines, which I find over priced. Of coarse limited work was accomplished on the flight - hard to justify, it being a Saturday I tell my self, but after all that wine, good food, I lay back and watch 3 movies in a row - At home I would not be allowed to do this. Actually anywhere else in the world I would not be allowed to do this.
Arrival goes quickly, but I am a little disappointed that the plane didn't park at the gate, and we have to take a bus to get to the terminal. All the business travelers are on the same bus and when the doors open there is the typical mad rush to get in line for immigration. Being a seasoned traveler I rush along with them, but as they all line up in the "express" line for business, I go to the empty lines for the rest of the unwashed masses. I smile to myself as I look over and see a huge line for them as I step up to the immigration official. Unfortunately he decided to be very thorough in his job and actually asks me questions, a first for me.
The hotel people are out front of the airport and I am efficiently met and passed to a driver who is introduced to me. By the time I arrive at the hotel, I learn he has three little kids and is 34 yrs old. He has pried similar information from me. As we pull up he informs me that the ride is complimentary but if I wish I can tip - ha little does he know he picked up a Canadian. (and I have no rupiah...)
